Do Not Become A Statistic

Sometimes during college you lose sight of why you are there.  We decide eventually on a major (or two), and think that once we graduate with a degree of some sort we will likely have a job, and likely be ok.  But think about it for just a minute, thousands of other graduates are in your shoes and believing the very same thing you are:  "it'll likely all work out somehow."

Truth is not everyone gets hired nor does everyone get their dream job related to their degree and areas of interest--some do, but the majority winds up being directed down another path or detour  altogether--not to say that this is a bad thing for some--but, you need to be prepared one way or another.

The competition these days weighs in pretty mightily, and you have to find ways that make you stand out, rise above, get noticed for the job you want, or venture out on your own.  College gives you that exposure and time to acquire new skills, develop your strengths, and discover interests in areas you didn't even know existed.

Unfortunately, many fail to take advantage of this benefit, and even less challenge themselves to tackle their weaknesses or admit they have any.  Don't be a statistic.  Take full advantage of this benefit--you have already paid tuition--make the most of your time and money!
